Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

By using Tune Harbor, you agree to these terms.

What Tune Harbor Is

Tune Harbor is a music sharing platform where users share one song per day with friends. We connect to Spotify and Apple Music to search for and link to songs. We do not host or stream music ourselves.

Your Account

You sign in with Google or Apple. Signing in only confirms who you are — no music account is ever connected to log in. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Tune Harbor.

Content and Your License to Us

You can share one song per day and add optional notes. Notes must not contain harassment, hate speech, or illegal content. You keep ownership of the notes you write and the picks you make. By posting, you grant Tune Harbor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and share that content within the app — including on public share pages and in the share images the app generates — solely to operate the service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared by others or retained in backups for a limited time.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Objectionable Content & Conduct

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Harassment, hate speech, threats, and illegal content are prohibited. Every song and profile can be reported from inside the app, and you can block any user to stop seeing their content and end any connection with them. We review reports and act on them — typically within 24 hours — by removing content and, where warranted, suspending accounts. To report content or a user you can also email hello@tuneharbor.com.

Copyright & DMCA

Tune Harbor links to songs on Spotify and Apple Music and does not host audio. If you believe content in the app (such as a note or image) infringes your copyright, email hello@tuneharbor.com with a description of the work, the location in the app, your contact information, and a good-faith statement. We will respond to valid notices and remove infringing material.

No Warranty

Tune Harbor is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep it running but make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or that the service will be error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tune Harbor and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months — which, because Tune Harbor is free, is zero.

Termination

You may stop using Tune Harbor and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts. Tune Harbor is available to users worldwide, and you are responsible for complying with the laws of your own location.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

Privacy Policy

What We Collect

  • Your email address, from the sign-in you choose — Google or Apple — and, if your account provides one, your profile photo. That's all we take from Google or Apple: enough to confirm it's you and set up your profile.
  • Your username, bio, and favorite genres (you choose these)
  • The songs you share (title, artist, album, artwork, platform, and any note)
  • Your friend connections and the reactions you send
  • Which songs you play a preview of — recorded so the poster can see their song was heard. This is visible only to the poster, never shown publicly.
  • If you export a playlist to Apple Music: the authorization token Apple issues when you approve the export. We store it privately so future exports are one tap, and use it for exactly one thing — creating playlists you asked for. Note: Apple's permission screen is all-or-nothing and mentions your media library and listening activity; we never read either. Deleting your account deletes the token.
  • If you turn notifications on in the app: your device's push token and timezone, stored so we can deliver the notifications you chose (each category has its own toggle). Turning notifications off, signing out, or deleting your account removes them.

What We Don't Collect

  • Your listening history, media library, or existing playlists — from Spotify or Apple Music. There is no music-service login, and even when you authorize an Apple Music export, we only ever create the playlist — we never read anything
  • Your Google contacts, calendar, or anything beyond your email and profile photo
  • Your location
  • Your contacts
  • We do not sell your data to anyone

What's Public

Tune Harbor lets you share song picks with friends and through share links. Your username, profile photo, bio, and the songs you post can be viewed on public profile and song pages (for example, when a friend shares a link), including by people who aren't logged in. The share images the app generates may include your pick and note. Your reactions and your preview-listen activity are always private. Don't post anything in a note that you wouldn't want to be public.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to run Tune Harbor — showing your songs to friends, powering share pages and share images, building playlists you export, displaying profiles, and keeping the service working and secure. We also use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics (see below) to understand how the app is used. We don't use your data to advertise to you, and we don't sell it.

Analytics & Cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which measures page views and general usage in aggregate. It is cookieless and does not build an advertising profile of you or track you across other sites. We also record a small set of product events on our own servers (for example, that a share page was viewed or a shared song got a reaction) to understand which features work; these events are tied to your account when you're signed in, are never shared with third parties, and are deleted with your account. The only cookies we set are the ones needed to keep you logged in — there are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner to click through.

Where Your Data Goes (Third Parties)

We share data only with the service providers that make Tune Harbor run:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (stores your account and content)
  • Vercel — hosting and aggregate analytics
  • Google / Apple — sign-in, and, if you choose, Apple Music playlist export
  • Spotify & Apple Music — song search, 30-second previews, and links out to the full song. Search runs through our own server using an app-level key; no account of yours is involved.

If you export a playlist to Apple Music, you authorize that with Apple at that moment and Apple's privacy policy applies.

Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting), both industry-standard platforms with encryption at rest and in transit. We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, reactions, friendships, listen records, and any stored Apple Music token are removed; residual copies in encrypted backups age out over a limited period.

Your Rights

You can access and update your profile in the app, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK under GDPR and California under the CCPA), you may also have the right to request a copy of your data, correct it, or object to certain processing. We don't sell personal data. To make any of these requests, email us at the address below.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your data, including posts, reactions, friend connections, listen records, and any stored Apple Music authorization.

Children

Tune Harbor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
